Moray's debut is a stunning arrangement of ideas. It is unabashed in its technicality, triumph, and its vision. Christian Petersen has bided his time with these four songs, sanding down their edges and allowing them to crystallize perfectly. Created partially in retaliation to the heavy-handed dominance of the Mormon church in his native Utah, there's a palpable defiance in the performance’s aggression.
This EP may rush by with the fervor of a wildfire, but its a sharply focused, flawlessly executed piece of modern black metal. The precision and detail in these songs lend it a staying power most full lengths can only hope to attain.
